Family Outings can be fun... sometimes
Today, we went to the museum to see the artifacts during the reign of Emperor 康熙(KangXi-Can't see) in the Qing dynasty. And needless to say, it wasn't free at all. (They are so not claiming the 5 bucks from me). We went on the last day too...
Anyway, the first stop was to eat the 'famous' Loh mee. At least, it was famously known to my grandfather, who was a regular patron at the stall until he passed away 8 years ago.
To be honest, I never really like this mee but still I was rather amazed to check out the long line. Wow. Even after my meal, there were still people queueing up.
Well, dad mixed up the orders but all's cool since mum did not really flare up and so, off we go to the museum. Let the tours begin: (I was saying that I never liked tour guides when I ran into the door)
The tour guide led us around the area and concluded her tour when I realised 2 things. First, that we are not allowed to take pictures and secondly, the emperor is a good ruler but lousy in love life as all three empress he loved died before him. Ok... no offence here.
And here I will start to faint, I mean, the early measuring set that was portable. Kangxi really is an emperor of Science, Arts and Warfare.
From here on, we moved off to other display areas and here are some interesting displays on Southeast Asia.
This depicts a Buddha being protected by the venomous cobra. You can see the serpent's hood.
I have no idea what is this and just took it because dad joked that it will be great as mum's wallpaper.
Afterwards, went to Siglap area to eat some Thai food and bought back ice cream. And that's all...
