3(P)'s and a wedding dinner
You know what's damn irritating about having to go to school?
No, it's not the fact that I may end up missing lessons as soon as I oversleep (although, in my record, I haven't even done it once) nor is it the fact about the homework allocated (Although I keep whining about it).
Its the damn fact that I have to go back on Saturdays or Sundays to get a project done or to attend some rather boring lecture on Working culture.
Well, yesterday, the 16 January happens to be the Day of PPP (I think it stands for Placement Preparedness Program or something, cannot be bothered about what it means). All I can say is that at least I learnt something that ba.
The lecturer is Mr Simon Neo who starts late and keeps showing us some intriguing video of pranks in Japan. One mostly involving the portable toilets being able to be lifted off like a lift as soon as the occupant gets ready to do his business.
Another worst case one is whereby the portable toilet, located on the beach, becomes a ski as the occupants have to balance on it and end up falling into the sea.
Last prank is most practical, a human posing as a statue called Marie something. Then scared a girl so much that she FAINTED on the spot. See? End up can kill people one...
Also watched the interview of Ris Low (BOOMZ) and have to say that she is really damn pretty enough to win the title, only if she was not interviews or answering questions. Upon interview before she was crowned, Ris was asked for her opinion on her Fashion style and as she answered, I was like thinking, "She's so damn fake. Answer also fake like that."
The main point is that overall, Ris (NO OFFENCE) is only trying to suck up to the interviewer by saying, "Yea, Huge fan etc". Mr Simon also noted that she tried to pass off as being intelligent but "People can see through when you are trying hard to impress". Moral of the story: State your own opinions and try not to 'over please the interviewer too much. (Job interviews)
The handwriting on the left and right is not mine. It's Wenyi 姐's. So you can all see she has included being a 'Housewife' as on of her future careers. I was like, "Ok ah. As long as 你嫁给一个有钱的老公。" She gave me that "Lols" look.
Also noteworthy that we were dismissed early. Lols... Super sian. So went to look up BF before heading home at 4 plus to get ready for the dinner.
Mum with make-up= What the?
Lols. I am always and will always be the plain Jane one. I simply freshen up, wore a dress and heel shoes (About 3-5 cm only) before leaving. I had no need to adorn myself with anything too... Simplicity is the best?
Bei姨婆 (We call in Hokkien but literally meaning Little Grandma aunt. She's the youngest of my Grandma's generation and slightly older then Dad only ba) was there to watch her son, uncle Ivan (whose English name was not mentioned until last night?) getting a new addition into the relative 'circle', Auntie Kelly!
Arrived there like 7 plus as we left at 6 like that due to bad traffic conditions at Thomson Road. Headed over to Windsor Ballroom and directed to table 10. Along the way there, greeted many relatives that we have to visit again on Chinese New year, well at least on my Father's side.
Also ushered by Ah-ma over to her Kahki's of Card playing 婆婆. I still recognised some of them because they have been playing cards (The Chinese chess kind of cards imprinted with different colours, I later realised as I grew older) with grandma ever since I was a little girl.
Naturally, they had also, 看我长大, and since I have not seen them like, from 5-6 years (namely because since we moved house, there were no more such sessions) they were like abit stunned to see me this time as someone in her late teens and not a little girl they sometimes used to buy treats for.
In a strange way, I was delighted to see them again sia.
Looked forward to dessert as per usual. But first so many main courses and before the event started, it was like we had to watch slide shows on their childhood photos? Diaos. Ok lols, since nothing better to do then watch lols.
Halfway through the course again, they display another slide show on just yesterday morning to show the 'wedding game'. I really pity the groom sometimes. It was quite funny because one question posed by the bride's 'sisters' went, "What is Kelly's shoe size?"
Then diaos, One of the groom's 'brothers' picked up her slipper and went, "This size." Innovative lahx.
Not bad de la. Uncle Ivan only got 1 question wrong. Not bad sia.
I was again harassed by Shannon. This girl never fails to bully me one lol. We have the same table some more. Convenient for her de. She also damn out of cue one- All go "Yum Seng" after the 3rd time, there's a brief moment of silence as we sipped our drinks, we heard her laughing out, nearly causing me and mum to choke out because we wanted to laugh.
I really like the souvenir, 甜甜蜜蜜 (HONEY) Lols.
Finally reached home at like 12 as dad ferried another elder relative back home. Along the way, he finally went, "以前小小的,那么安静,不理人。现在这长大变漂亮,对人有话直说。" Lols... switch character with brother and i don't think it is a bad thing to '吵到疯' de.
Lols... Another week of pressure because already have 2 tests this week and more to come. Have to live through this!!!
I had this dream. I happened to be back in the same temple that was carved into a mountain overlooking the seas somewhere in Guangzhuo. (Somehow I knew it was there?)
I was just leaning over the wooden railings, (like the kampong ones) and drooped a box into the sea on purpose. I made no attempt to get the shimmering diamond ring (The box was like those gift boxes and fell apart so I saw the ring) as I watched it sink deeper into the sea.
Later on, went back to my family side to board the boat when mum asked, "Where's my ring?" I looked towards my side and saw this 'doreamon' piggy bank nearly sinking and made an effort to get it (dunno why but that doramon was also thrown by me) and opened it to see yet another ring before giving it to mum.
Then it led to getting on a bus there and the bus moved on leaving my grandmother behind. As I was wondering what to do, I saw grandmother (on mum's side) getting into a taxi and chasing the bus? Lols...
Woke up wondering whose ring was it that I threw into the sea (like 2 times) in my dream. The 2nd one was obviously my mum's but the first? Please don't say it's mine lol.
'Why the hell would a girl throw away a DIAMOND studded ring?' Many people must be thinking too. Hmm... must be hinting that cannot get married? Wkakaa.

My sister once told me that dreams are symptoms of your mind working while you sleep.
ReplyDeleteI have always despised the term "boomz". I still do. It has no meaning to it. Ergo, it does not exist in my vocabulary. Don't ever expect me to use it. Not once, not ever.
Japanese pranks and game shows tend to draw lots of people from all over the civilised world simply because they're far more outrageous and entertaining than pranks and game shows from virtually every other part of the world. Look at Sasuke and Majide, for instance. It's popular enough for the Americans to broadcast it in their country as Ninja Warrior and I Survived A Japanese Game Show respectively.
