Simple pleasure
This entire week I have been up to doing nothing but slacking and wasting my precious time away. In light of this trend, I also happen to be keeping late nights which results in a disruptive sleep pattern and thus, not my usual self in the mornings...
The major events this week includes burning incense and offerings for some luck for the office. For the first time, I start to liken the scattered burnt paper as snow- A black blizzard.
It's just that when we are burning the offerings in the open, strong gusts of wind just made the fire roar stronger and the next thing I know is that I was just there, feeling the searing heat of the flames, looking at the burnt ashes and yelling, "Haa~ It's snowing!" much to the exasperation of my dad.
That was on Wednesday, 25 August.
Then the day after that, went to pick up grandmother and went to the temple to place offerings for grandfather. Not only do we 拜 grandfather, we also had to pay our respects to his first wife as well (I know, this sounds so wrong...)
With the joss stick in hand, grandma reached over to take it from me to place on the urn when the ashes fell on left hand. I yelled out in pain. Mum jokingly went, "喂,你想吓他们(to the various other portraits of the deceased on the tablet) 啊?"
Now that I look at that small mark, I realised that I had another scar~~
Yesterday, on the 28th August, went out to meet my maternal grandparents who are having lunch at East Coast Park who went, "好久没看到你,你还是这么瘦?" I swear....
Well, Grandpa's new second-hand car was really well maintained and I found it hard to believe that it is in fact, 5 years old already.
After the meal, grandpa went back home to sleep while grandma accompanied us to go shopping for the stuff we need to get in preparation for the trip. In the car, I was just viewing outside when something made me look up and I am so glad I did.
I saw a rainbow~~ Haiya!! It's been too long since I last saw any rainbows and also one that took on the form of a crescent moon shape surrounding the sun. I was stunned. Sure, I know that rainbows are never semicircle as views from the ground but really it was AMAZING!!
Slack as usual at home and always wondering why the hell doesSingapore organises so many events but never gets one wherein I am rather interested in? Tch... I need to get a life here.
