A new enrichment course
Ok, I decided to tweak my blog back to being public since technically, the whole drama have died down and well, I can just resume it to being private again should anything happens again. Also can remove the tag board ba... Lols.
Anyway, went to Toa Payoh's British Council (It's a learning centre for those of you who think that it's for British people). The idea was to join an enrichment course for 5-months like that.
I went with my family after a big hoo-ha on, "Vivian, 没大没小" What? All I did was rebuke a little using swearing words... Opps... Wrong argument.
Anyway, the British Council Learning Center (I shall refer it as BC from now) has 2 branches. With the one located in Orchard Road being more of the headquarters.
Ok. Main point is that in order to enrol for the enrichment program I am in, one needs to sit for a test and have another interview conducted. Let's go de.
For the test, one has to score like 60 and above to enter. Since I did not bother to check out the total score for the 40 minutes test, but knowing that 1 section is like 20 points and there are 4, so, do the math or I'll do it here.
Well, to be honest, the test questions were really... erm... Ok. Honestly, I expected it to be harder but well, refer to Secondary School test papers and the Standard was somewhere there. No kidding.
Anyway, I managed to complete it and erm... waited for the test results and the interview while just checking out what mum was doing/teaching brother his hand phone.
Finally, I was called up and I just went to into the interview. I can understand why my brother says he cannot understand the guy- My interviewer speaks Queen's English at a well, fast pace. Typical for Caucasians, I guess.
In the end, I had to tell him why I wanted this enrichment course(crapping must be a handy tool here) and introduce myself?
That was it, it seems ok. I decided to go for it since, it will be a life skill that I can upgrade and use it at my disposal. We are talking about report writing and all...
So, my disappointing score in the 4 sections:
12,17,18,20. Conclusion: 67/80 (Around 83%)
I SUCK big time in the whole vocabulary and grammar thing. Not surprising because the first segment I scored so lowly is equal to a MCQ which, was never my forte even in my ok modules. God, 12/20 for MCQ sia... Shit... I really have 退步 in my English.
The behind one is quite interesting because... it was more like, "Paraphrase the sentence with the helping words" thingy.
One such example: "I borrowed this book from a friend's brother"
That is the test for the last 2 parts... So, yea. I wonder how I can somewhat pull the grades up from this section. Must be due to writing too much essays... Yes!
Erm, I dunno. I just voted and gotten myself into something extra for next year already. Total Damage for this thing=$1095. Great...
Anyway, headed over to 'explore' the area since a 路白痴 like me is bound to get lost even when it is in the hub of Toa Payoh. I never realised that this place is super busy one...
Went into the Popular bookstore to check out what new reads are there and all but... Nothing or simply because I have no interest in Vampire fictions. (Enough Twilight and stuff already... Too hyped. Not that I hate it or anything la but still... I can't take things that gets too hyped)

You know, after Harry Potter this novel is really a 'hit' but I still ask Why? Don't go saying "Oh, because it has vampires or werewolves/ He or she's hot or pretty/ Forbidden love is so romantic... (sighs)/ I have a boyfriend or girlfriend like the characters"
Allow me to elaborate:
Went over to a relative's house for dinner. Well, not that I ate much since I am full and everything...
And that's it ba..

20x4=80 (Total? Assumed to be)
Haa... Converting it back to percentages, that means that we need a score of 75% at least to get in this course.

Answer: "This book________________________"

What do I mean by Hyped? Even it gets translated into Chinese versions... Very literal... New Moon...

The famed 2nd book.

Allow me to elaborate:
- So what if it features fictional creatures? Toss in some unicorns or imaginary creatures to appeal to kids too then...
- Major crush on the characters on screen leads to obsession with the actors. Draw the line here...
- Haaa.... Nuff said about psychology.
- No comment. Has the screen life overtaken real life? Girls really are inspired to find the 'perfect' BF like Edward huh? Tough deal... for the guys...
Like I said, I really don't know what the 'thing' is about Twilight that makes it a major hit and all... But I do know that others view differently. So... I guess, as long as no one gets hurt or anything, it's acceptable?
Popped over at Bedok to purchase new shampoo since I always have problems with my dry hair...
Went to snack at Macdonald's. Must I really 'aim for a local university when my GPA makes it so crystal clear that it will never happen'? I mean come on, I am simply an average student and the only way I am ever going to get into the local uni is simply due to any talent which, I don't have...
