News Flash! Not my B-day

Super Happy! Why? Namely because I got in contact with my long-lost friend from primary school. (Like really super duper long time ago. As I count, it's been what? 6years after all)

Honestly, I was bored and decided to look up Facebook for any possible contacts that I can recall from memory. I remembered her and checked out her data.

Initially, I was hesitant to contact her because well, for 6 years you haven't seen each other may I ask what you say? Sides, I wasn't sure if she was the one from my memory either.

Anyway, she totally remembered me sia. Dots. Means I haven't change sia. Great! Lols.. Hmm..

All I remember is that we go way back to primary school:

• Having same initials and even namesake (VT)
• Back in the old days,class 4A, we first met around there because of 1st point?
• She's way smarter then me. She went into EM1(during the streaming) and got accepted into Dunman(I think)
  

Haha. Thanks god for Facebook or I would not have found her? Lols.

Hmm, yesterday, on the 29th December, went to finish the last injection for the whole year. Got back relatively early but was picked up again to go out to LongBeach Seafood.

Dad got us to the wrong location- He admits he's getting older as it is. Anyway, we are the last to arrive at the place at Kallang and promptly settled down.

We are there to celebrate my 干爸 (God-father)/Uncle's birthday. He's turning 51 this year. Woots! Old liaos.

Aww come on! Pearl Lee!!! Hiya Auntie!!

We were split into 2 tables ma. This one is known as the kid's table. When I protested that I am neither at the 'adult's table nor at the 'kid's table, mum was like, "Ok! Then you sit in the middle." Diaos.

From left, my grandmother, 干妈/Aunt (I explain later) and the birthday boy ~coughs~ man.

Brother is decked in green this time. Why do so many people say he looks a hell load like Uncle Dickson? Where got? Sheesh...

And one of the platter served equals to... SCRUMPTIOUS. Even I was so mesmerized by the culinary display that I had to take a picture of this. It's like the 'LOBSTER's SPREAD'. A feast meant for the Royalty.

Me: ~Seats down~
干爸: Vivian, where's my 红包?
Me: Err.. I give you $1 can?
干妈: 什么？才一块而已呀？Haiyo. 你这个...
Grandmother: 很好了。她才给老爸 $2 而已.
干妈: ~Look of disbelief~ Really ah? 哥...
Daddy: Yea la. This stingy girl.
Me: ~Gets a red packet and another dollar from mum~ Here!
干爸: ~Laughs and takes it~

This is mum's favourite photo of my uncle. Mum went, "He looks like he's making a wish," I was more on the "He look like he's praying before blowing out the candles, announcing to Jesus he's another year older.

And there's my dad and 2 other little cousins- Shermine and Shannon respectively. These 2 bugged me to no end throughout the meal.

God. This is so not happening, but it is. I can hardly eat my thing because little Shermine will totter over to me and I have to go "Pikaa~" Shannon, on the other hand, kept poking me and even teased me sia.

It was so bad I had to go, "阿妈！她欺负我！你看！" And my grandmother whipped her head over just in time to see Shannon poking me at my plaster(I said I went to do the injection previously, no?) and went, "不可以欺负姐姐."

Even their mum was like, "Wow, next time can leave them 2 with Patrick and Vivian. Free babysitters." Thanks ah... Brother and Pearl just seemed to look on... Sia la.

This is one of the 2 desserts that I sampled. Actually, I adored the sea coconuts more then the almond. Don't be deceived because the bowl is actually rather small one de.

The greenish liquid is just some chemical to cause the dry ice effect.

Anyway, mentioning here now that my aunt and uncle are also known as my godparents respectively.

The whole concept came about when they were desperately trying to conceive a child. Of course, they heard rumours that by 'adopting' another's kids, one may conceive.

Well, brother and I sort of brought luck because well, Aunt got pregnant shortly afterwards. Not bad for kids. Mum says that I am Aunt's 'lucky star' in this episode as well as the fact that Aunt was also the one who gave me my christian name.

It appears that when I was born, Aunt went to gamble (I dunno which type but presumed to be in league with 4-D) using my 八字(No la. Just my birth time) and miraculously she won after playing it once.

Haizz.... I brushed it aside as silly because I am who I am and not some 幸运星. Fortunes just smiled brightly after my birth. I also received some childish gifts from Aunt and well... an Amethyst 4 leaf clover.

When mum asked why is it that she had to purchase Feb's birthstone (Lols, luck), Aunt emphasised that the place she went to sold only Amethyst stuff. Lols.. Diaos la.

Moving on to the 30th, had to go to school to do the DOES project and in the end, met up with classmates who were going to Chek Jawa. In the end, learned had to do another report again. God damn it la. Where on earth is the break even?

Anyway, it appears that my phone was 'knocked unconscious' by a blow directed at it (accidentally la). I mean, couldn't gt hold of whoever I called. Stupid phone, only 'awoke' when I restarted the whole thing.

Went out to dinner afterwards with some Uncles and Auntie. Lols. I was... I dunno, tired and therefore, looked as though I had been choking on my food. Lols. First mistake: Dad hit me on my left shoulder. Oww...

Went to Bedok 511 (You know, thanks Uncle Jimmy) to have dessert. And oh my lord, I get to choose like a 'Buy 1 get 1 free' deal at Crocs. I chose something like a flat worth around 50 bucks... I always have expensive taste.

I ADORED the orange and white combo for brother. I dunno.. It stands out and speaks: ATTENTION!

Went home afterwards to sleep the new day.

Realised that 'Friendship' has different connotations in Asia and America. In America, it meant so much more then just going to the same school and keeping it up until one's hair turned white.

In Asia? Well, I get that Not like it will be happening anytime soon. The most I've seen is just keeping it up until what, University? Hmm... Different culture and upbringing but still... Oh well.
