Random thinking
I was just thinking of random things when my thoughts drifted it over to this question:
What is the ideal punishment for children, teenagers and adults themselves? (Yes, adults do wrong stuff too, but they can just shrug and deny it becausethey are adults ma)
As a child, I guess getting spanked was all the usual. It was far worse whenever the 'rod' (cane, 藤条) came out. That was because it always left those bruises that wouldn't go away until days later. I remember about having 'exotic' punishments too.
It happened once when I was young. I had a fight with my brother that got out of control with stuff being thrown at each other. Finally, Ah ma came to stop us and after a well earned lecture, she went to the fridge and took out the chopped red chili and forced them into our mouths. Now that I think about it, I am proud to say I was a little fire breathing dragon that raced for water too.
Then, moving on to the adolescent phrase of our lives meant that we were an unruly bunch, hard to be controlled and challenging adults at the same time. Now the cane is left aside and so, when teenagers do something wrong, how are they punished?
Thus far, the common methods aregrounding, having control over any electronic device as well as slapping them on the face. Thus far, I remember that I have encountered all 3 over the course of my teenage lifestyle with the 'spanking' being the most common. But what purpose does it hold?
Spanking can only do so much because teenagers have closed their ears to all the naggy advice and rather not spend time with the family. Spanking should be curbed around this time as it may get violent, especially when the teen is near his/her boiling point. (I should know, I get irrationally enraged and start restraining myself to lash/punch my mum back. Can imagine if I were more hot headed and less emotional what would have happened)
Of course, since adults are the ones who lay the rules, it does not mean they are always right though. Adults are really just 大孩子 after all. So, since I have never seen or heard of adults been punished (save for prison but really...) I think we can all come up with something though.
I vote on letting them work all 7 days for at least 2 months++. What? I can 'work' adults to death since we kids 'study' to death ma. Also, how about just letting kids know the several passwords for credit cards? (I can hear some adults crying after reading this already...)

So anyway, the main point is that I have been doing my slacking cum messenger pigeon job. This week is much more hectic because yesterday on the 13th July, had dinner outside with BF and this Friday is class gathering with poly classmates.
I must be quite a
I need something to do. Office is killing me. I rather be busy with projects and rush for deadlines actually (although when the real deal comes, I doubt it though..)
Then today, had the kerosene smell wafting in the office during the late afternoon. It seems that the strong smell leaked into our office due to some maintenance/renovation being done on the rooftop. I ain't complaining as the smell was not that pungent.
I realised that I seriously have to start training my brain but the thing is, I always rather not do that and would rather just go with the flow relying on my luck instead. Zzz... maybe it was a bad idea to be complacent?
