Amazing Decisions
Yesterday, on the 17th of July, went out with the family after receiving some form of long-winded (Yes, in other words, it is some form of ear-rape since she cannot stop one) lecturing. Eventually, managed to spend the whole day outside experiencing the 'rural' aspect of Singapore.
We went over to the farm area along the north of Singapore, namely Chua Chu Kang area. Went over to a rather 'famous' area even which my maternal grandfather was searching for. The place name seems abit unrelated to the profession though- Bollywood. I thought mushrooms were going to do some bollywood dancing the moment I realised it was a vegetable farm.
What intrigued me the most was the question: How do people actually name trees?
I mean come on, I strolled around the area only to see weird names like Bread Tree (Do breads grow on trees?) and Drumstick Tree (WTH?)
And the best part is that I always get bitten by mosquitoes. I am starting to wonder if my blood is 甜 to that extent or not since I have not gorged on chocolates that often already.
For the early dinner, we went to eat G7's 田鸡粥! That was the best dish ever. Since we ordered it to be rather spicy, it meant that by the end of the first serving, my sensitive nose could not take it any more and thus, further hampering my eating speed. Why does the spice level for all good food have to be so god damn high?
Anyway, today, on the 18th of July, I went to Stansfield College to inquire in their School of Law. The thing is, I am also looking into Law itself as my career prospect since I figured it has the least to do with Maths and a heck load of Language...
It's last minute since I have joked about it to a friend before and she too had suggested I go for it but back then, I wasn't too sure since my results were pathetic and also, it was not realistic considering the time it will take. Then a few days ago, somehow, I managed to say it to my dad and since then, let's just say it's kinda lead to this.
The only main thing my parents were concerned about was the 'shit workoad' IF I managed to pull through the Diploma (which will last for 1 year). Me? All I was thinking is how the hell am I going to pull through such a straining task without as much as a motivation that lasts?
I think the best quote would have to be: Cannot imagine you as a lawyer... (If I even make it...)
Met up with the consultants and was given advice on this pathway:
Diploma in Law (1 year)~ Bachelor of Laws overseas with agreed Universities (3 years)~ Undergo 'Attachment' (Whatever they call it for 1 year) and 'Call to bar' (If pass then total 1 year?)
This is from what I have understood thus far which is seriously complicated to the maximum. That must be the minimum time taken at least to just graduate. SHIT is the apt description for it now.
And to cap it all off, there was an interview to just judge me and dad was all like, "Wow. It's the dean who interviewed you lei. They say he's not always here one lol. Your lucky day sia." Actually, it matters not though. Since my mind is on the main thought of just studying like hell.... for at least 4 to 6 years sia...
Actually, it's more like just try it lol. Thank god it's for a year because if I fail in it I can always reapply for my 老本行= Logistics. It's like try it so there will be no regrets lol. But wha lao everyday 9.30-5.30 lei. And the best part is that it will commence by Next week already. LOLS. Haha
