Can't stand my mum sometimes plus PAWNed!
Let's face it, I am not close nor distant from my parents either. In fact all can be said is that I am not distant to my parents because I am still well brought up and not neglected but I am not close with them either as I don't tend to express my emotions as openly nor confide in them as much. (Seeing as they tend to be more focused on my brother)
To be honest, perhaps because I grew up in this 'limbo' way, maybe that's why sometimes I came to view my parents as a family member that I am part of and sometimes, I tend to view them as mere people I can easily manipulate into getting what I want the most. (Mainly material things)
Initially, I was fine with the whole, "I trust you to take care of yourself" nature. But as I grew up, I realised that when I was in trouble, there really wasn't much I will tell them until the matter got out of hand. Prior to my independent, aloof and introverted nature, it seems to have taken it's toll because I can't really express much of my affections easily(while it is true that I have random emotional outbursts but I can't express anything deeper. Say I can be happy but I can't be happy at the sight of my parents even after not seeing them for a month)
That may explain why I tend to be '迟钝' and somewhat refuse to acknowledge any other emotions then the basic ones.
Anyway, today my mum really can be annoying. I means, firstly, she wants the camera that is in my room- Honestly, when was it under my charge?
I grumbled as she finally found the cable and begun charging but not before this STOOPID statement, "How to charge ah?"
You've got to be kidding me sia. What's the point of wanting the item in the last minute and always dunno what to do. I can help if she does not know but honestly, my mind was tired (I am refusing sleep) and she DON'T bother to TRY anything but just ASK. It's like what the hell?
When I ask you guys for help, always ask me to figure it myself and it's only after I already did and went for help. And my mum just don't bother about trying and ask right away. I was really tired and just went on my own thing and she finally figured it out.
Went on later to Changi Airport Terminal 3 to meet with Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Forest to have dinner at Waruku's. The sticky rice is really, well sticky and the serving is just scary is that I can finish the so-little beef and leave so many mouthful of rice behind before I tucked into some dessert.
The only thing I fancy in the restaurant are the life-like models of the menu on display. (Sorry no pictures because my phone is really super slow in terms of taking pictures and all).
Afterwards, headed over to Pasir Ris Farm way to fish prawns. "All the Papillions went to sleep already la," as mum puts it when I was staring out at the dog area.
The funny thing is that we made a big detour just to end up to our original place. See, we had arrived at the destination with 四叔公 and the others nowhere in sight. So we went to the other area only to meet them and tell us to drive back to this area. Diaos huh?
Anyway, greeted them and went to rent the rods. This is my first time fishing too. So, I was like a hyper little puppy, going cray and random.
Initially, there was no luck at where-ever we were and so Dad passed the rod to Uncle Jimmy who in turn, passed it back to me. As I was just dancing to the music blasting behind, then suddenly, Auntie Forest went, "Went in already," (The float)
So I tugged and then the first of many feisty prawns came up, splashing water at me!
Auntie Forest had the most luck with repetitive catches as soon as Alvin handed over the rod, one was dangling there. Lols.
For me, I had my bait eaten/dropped many times that I was so fired up and random going, "I will kill them for mocking me!!!"
Funny thing is that there are 2 times I was not aware of the prawns because the float did not go underwater. The first was when I was getting into my chair, when I heard cries of, "Vivian, pull!" I was like, "Huh?" and then pull type. And Here we go...
The 2nd time was when Auntie Kasmi noted the line and I pulled out a weaker prawn, (Lost it's limb).
Even mum was like saying, "Prawns ah, you don't always go to Vivian's line lei. I also want to catch you~" You know if the prawns heard and understood that, we will not bother to cast our rods in the first place...
And the funny thing is that I was rather noisy and the prawns still kept tugging at my rod too. Haha... cute. (Noises generally scare away fishes/crustaceans)
Later on, Uncle Ah Guang arrived, slightly later then his family and went to catch 1 crab.
Finally, after I held the rod for 2 hours plus, I retired after my catch of 7 prawns. By then, the BBQ had started.
Time to celebrate brother's B-day!! A chocolate cake without any fork. Right, I guess this is better then Larry's B-day party ba. Lols. Well, Aim hard at your wish, ok?
Anyhow, I am still intrigued by the whole fishing thing and went to look at the rod for crab catching with Auntie Bam and Uncle Jimmy. Haha, immediately after singing the birthday song, a crab was entangled and we caught the 2nd one much to comical results.
I...felt rather sick to my stomach. It's not because I am ill or anything. It's because of the way I saw how the prawns and crabs were killed.
I dunno but I am aware that if they were given a voice, they would have let out a pain splitting agonizing cry as they had their legs cut off and then a skewer pierced through them before slowly and painfully dying being cooked.
It's just like that... So I reluctantly ate one. No wonder I felt sick. I can imagine it's like I really deliberately 杀生 from the moment I snagged them.
It's the same, albeit more cruel way with the 2 crabs. They were also roasted alive, the most painful and agonising way that I wished will never happen to me. Maybe it's really just me but still, I can imagine the whole reincarnation thing...
But we just left the dead crab there before packing up and leaving. I just don't know what to say about this either.
