Flood abound on Campus
Seriously, I know it is the wet season and all but does it truly predict that Singapore will be destroyed in 2012 by floods? Looks like some of the signs are coming in strong and fast.
As any geography teacher would have taught you, low lying areas, like Singapore(more like 99% Singapore) are prone to being flooded, well only thing that keeps it from happening thus far is the fact that we have a natural barrier(Indonesia, etc) to shield us.
However, with climate changes being unpredictable, who's to say about what can or may happen in our future?
Anyway, yes, campus had several low-lying areas flooded (Literally, you will walk in water) much to our astonishment and amusement after Hui Ping and Sushan and me viewed the video uploaded on Face book today.
It's really like a view right out of some cheap budgeted movie whereby we are in some school and soon something terrible will happen and all. Even Meng 姐's video of the waterfall right in our newest (Yea, it's been a year plus already) canteen, Makan Place, showed a waterfall of epic issues... Kind of reminded me about my dream again...
If the waterfall incident occurs at a canteen, I can understand but of all places, it happens at what we consider a hig-class canteen, Makan Place? This is just pure EPIC.
Another point to note. I do know that the Bukit Timah area is a water catchment area so floods now and then are inevitable but does the accident at Makan Place tie in with this? Is the school trying to promote a water catchment canteen as well? Too Eco-friendly if you ask me.
Lucky me... being so optimistic, as Sushan puts it, in the rain.
The most epic thing today was the fact that from 5 presenters, only 3 were present. Meng 姐 wanted to skip SMKT to revise for the upcoming FPD test while 兔兔 was stricken with stomach aches.
So, we were like, "Ok, I will be presenting this part for my absent team member," If this is not bad, the next statement sure is...
"This is my part. Yea, so...I'll continue,"
Haiyo!! Think I can also consider Clive's suggestion and go try Macdonald's. Lols, Wkakaka. Today's presentation was a bit slacken off the normal standard-even my lecturer was saying that I did not seem to have the same energy as my previous ones. Sorry, but honestly, it's because I have to worry more about the slides behind and also in this kind of weather...
Realised finally that it's not the exams that kill one in poly, it's the many assignments and E-learning weeks that do. I mean, well, I kinda hate poly for the assignments but then again, it's all part and parcel of life.
I need to get a new phone. My phone is capable of shutting off the power while I am in the midst of the call, displaying the low battery signal. Here's the thing, if it has low battery, then why, after awhile, I checked it again to see that it has full bar life again?
It's either the phone's old and is going crazy (I had it for 3 years now) or I pressed the button accidentally. The probability of it being the second choice is relatively low as it happens twice when I was calling 兔兔. That's it, the phone officially hates me...
I want to watch the movie 2012 but as of now, I rather get my hands on the DVD's or just wait until it shows on cable channel.
