A break is finally coming up... after the smell of incense
And today, I went to classes smelling like incense paper. No la. I just say it this way because today woke up at the usual time and then went to 拜阿公. We went all the way to the temple after picking up grandmother.
There, Grandmother laid down the offerings as I just took the joss sticks that my brother passed me and kept looking out on the tablets, the picture of my dear grandfather. It took some time before I finally saw that face- Always smiling and so 和蔼 since young.
My brother was the epic one. He haven't let 阿公 'eat' or anything and just proceeded to 'ask' him (via the wooden instruments that make quite a din on the floor).
Later on, we were packing up the several hell notes and stuff when grandmother decided and remembered, right there and then, to fold the paper into those ingots. I tell you, this part is like so damn tedious for someone who has little hands-on experience with arts and crafts plus the fact that the logic thinking skills also failed her~~ Me la!
Well, I went up to the furnace (I think it is) with dad and grandmother to burn the offerings. But in the midst of doing so, raindrops pelted on us and so, we had to cut it short by just tossing most of the stuff inside.
I felt the searing heat of the fire and saw the various ashes flying into the sky before turning to leave as the raindrops seem to be instigating out departure.
As we return, bro and dad asked grandfather the same question: Do we move house? And the result? Two completely different answers lols. Saying Yes to the grandson and no to the son.
Dad: 阿爸,真偏心... (Spoken in Hokkien It should sound like ah ba, zin pian seng or somewhere along the lines)
Soon after, went to Geylang area for curry rice before being dropped off at the MRT station for school.
I have this new founded fear for the joss sticks ashes that can burn me. I mean, the joss sticks being burned off over time leaved like a pile of ashed that crumble with movement. And of all reasons, I got the ashes on my right hand and since then...
I refused to hold the joss stick any longer then needed. Stupid pain reception and then fear...
